Look Within not Without
A poem about finding confidence
I see shadows everywhere,
Memories and What-Ifs
The circle of life and society reminding me what the job description of each chapter should be,
But they don't suit me.
I feel like I belong elsewhere,
Like Alice chasing that rabbit into wonderland, trying to find myself.
…
Maybe That's the Answer!
Daring to look through that looking glass.
Seeing the alternate version of me,
That everyone sees but me.
Maybe I'm just topsy turvy,
a little bit mad and stuck in my head,
Who Am I supposed to be?
I am still answering that question.
But I can now say, that looking within,
is probably where i will find it,
Not looking around.
